Nigeria Football Federation secretary-general, Musa Amadu has declared that Nigeria have no option than to honor the contract it signed with the Bangladesh Football Federation to play Argentina September 6 in Dhaka.
There has been conflicting signals from the Abuja headquarters of the NFF as Amadu and technical committee chairman, Chris Green took different positions on the match. The technical committee have distance itself from the game just there are insinuations that Barrister Amadu acted alone when he signed the contract.
“As far as I am concern the Argentina match will still go ahead. I have not received any contrary instruction from anybody that we should not play the match.”
“One thing people should know is that I do not do things on my own in this house. I have people I receive instruction from and I also report to. Everything about this match was well deliberated upon, so the issue of me acting alone does not arise. More so, the match had been arranged even before the first leg was played,” Amadu
On June Nigeria beat a B string Argentina side 4-1 in Abuja. This second match will see Argentina top stars in action and they have promised to pay the Eagles back for the humiliation in Abuja. This is why perhaps the technical committee and coach Samson Siasia are not too keen in playing the game.
Siasia insisted that he was more concerned about his Nations Cup qualifiers against Madagascar that same September.
