Once again the performance of candidates in the November/December 2010 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is unimpressive.
Only 20.04 (62,295) per cent of the 310,077 candidates that sat for the examination made credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics.
Last year, 31.96 per cent reached the benchmark for admission into tertiary institutions; in 2008, it was 23.54 per cent.
