This is the sixty-four thousand dollar question that haunts me day and night which I would like Nigerians to answer. This question emanates due to the confusing and complexities of our political system.
It’s no more a breaking news that Peoples Democratic Party {PDP} happens to be the only visible party in Nigeria. It controls virtually the whole state and the entire federation. The political commandos within the party form a clique in which they decide the fate of the nation and engineer its affairs. They decide in their infinite wisdom whether to zone or loan the kingly seat. If the seat was actually meant to be rotated, how come the present miscalculation since there was an agreed degree through which it should be rotated?
Looking at the present electoral system and the aforementioned issues, one would rightly doubt if Nigeria truly operates a multiparty system. And if Nigeria truly operates a multiparty system, where are the other parties? Do they really oppose those regressive decisions? Or should we conclusively say that they were emasculated by the ruling party? And if they were not emasculated or trampled to deafening silence, I guess they don’t worth being called a party. What’s the essence of poultry if the chickens cannot make a good meat?
