Despite the uncertainty of the elections timetable, presidential aspirants are keeping their campaigns at full throttle.
President Goodluck Jonathan got a huge boost for his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket bid, with his endorsement Sunday by Southeast governors.
The five governors, after a meeting in Enugu, decided "to urge all delegates of the PDP in the zone to vote en bloc for President Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo ticket in the forthcoming presidential primaries of the party".
Also yesterday, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Bukola Saraki and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu painted a bad picture of the nation’s economy, promising to revamp it.
Buhari, who is a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), reviewed the over 11 years of PDP’s leadership of the country, describing it as "a calamity".
To him, the level of "executive theft" unleashed on the nation over the last 11 years is "mind-boggling". Nigerians should never have the misfortune of the party being foisted on them again in 2011.
