The tempo of political activities got on the fast lane yesterday, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing the time table for the 2011 elections.

The presidential election has been slated for January 22. It will be preceded by elections into the National Assembly on January 15.

The governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold same day on January 29.

Announcing the programme, INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Information, Publicity and Communication, Prince Solomon Soyebi, said the electoral umpire’s action was in line with the Electoral Act 2010.
