NIGERIA Football Federation (NFF) may sack Home-Based Eagles’ coach Shuaibu Amodu for insubordination, and continual absence from duties. NationSport gathered from a source at the Football House that Amodu's insistence not to seat on the bench for today’s international friendly match against DR Congo at the National Stadium, Abuja may be his undoing, as that may be the last straw that would break the camel’s back.

“Let him stay away from the match, that shows that he has continued to refuse to take directives from a constituted authority. This is somebody we tolerated all this while, and I want to tell you that it would be very difficult for him to see a board of NFF that can tolerate this far. "If he goes ahead not to honour the match, we would invoke the relevant parts of the civil service rules, and treat him according to the lay down rules," the source said.

It was also revealed that the NFF is not bothered about the legal threats of Shuaibu Amodu, stresing that his appointment remains with national teams, and not only Super Eagles.

"Even the new technical adviser is for all the national teams. That is the main reason why he has been watching all the teams including the girls, which is also applicable to Amodu. He can be sent to head any of the national teams at any time. We are waiting for him," the source added.
