THE President said yesterday that Dr Goodluck Jonathan remains Acting President, contrary to the feeling in some quarters.
Presidential spokesman Olusegun Adeniyi issued a statement on Wednesday, referring to Dr Jonathan as Vice President. To many, this meant President Umaru Yar’Adua did not agree with Jonathan’s new status which became inevitable following the President’s three months stay in Saudi Arabia.
Adeniyi cleared the air yesterday. He said: "The Acting President and Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Jonathan, continues to run the affairs of the country until the President is fit to take over. The statement is very clear that the Acting President continues to run the affairs of the nation and that remains the situation as far as I am concerned, and as far as the President is concerned."
