Mr. David Edevbie, principal secretary of ailing Nigerian president has disappeared from his office in Aso Rock. He neither answers nor returns phone calls.

Nigerian blogger, HuhuOnline claimed this morning that Edevbie may be hibernating in Dubai, a favourite destination of Nigeria’s ruling elite.

David Edevbie is believed to have left Nigeria over fears that the National Assembly may grill him over his role in the 2010 budget purportedly signed by President Yar‘adua.

He had claimed that President Yar’adua signed the 2009 supplementary appropriation bill passed by the National Assembly.

On 22 December, he claimed to have gotten instructions to come to Jeddah with the budget. On arrival, he was asked to handover the budget to a yet to be identified person, who had access to the president in the King Faisal Hospital.

The president reportedly signed the budget, but many Nigerians doubted whether the president actually signed. Many believed the president’s signature was forged.

When he returned to Nigeria, Edevbie refused to answer questions on the authenticity of the signature.
